After time abroad, I now find myself surrounded by the wooded hills, windswept beaches and wide horizons that Hampshire has to offer. While living overseas, I always had my camera to hand, but being home means I’ve got my brushes out again. No matter the medium or the setting, my aim is always the same - to capture the light. My abstract landscapes attempt to conjure up that fleeting moment when the light plays perfectly on the land, sea and sky - before it all changes. Hopefully, my paintings let you pause, breathe and feel connected to nature - transforming rooms into places of reflection and stillness.
This fascination with bringing the weather indoors can probably be traced back to a childhood under African skies and on the bracing beaches of Canada’s west coast. It endured through years of studying finance, a corporate career and raising little people. Now all the photos on my camera roll and all those sketchbooks I carried and catalogued are finally finding their way onto canvas.
